Foreign buy support helps Qatar shares rebound

Buying support from foreign institutions mainly lifted the Qatar Stock Exchange yesterday after three days of bearish spell, even as its capitalisation continued to erode by another QR8bn.Local retail investors' net buying with less vigour also helped the 20-stock Qatar Index (based on price data) gain 0.4% to 12,677.59 points.

Abu Dhabi sees 32% more hotel guests in first quarter

Hotels in Abu Dhabi saw occupancy climb to 79 per cent during the first quarter of the year as 834,771 guests checked in, marking a 32 per cent increase over the same period in 2013, the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) said on Wednesday.
